Places to Visit
There’s a very convenient bus service from the 'top' of the village - take a trip by bus/car to the market at Aulla which is held every Saturday – it’s very big and you can pick up some wonderful bargains.  

Lucca (everyone’s favourite medieval walled town) and Parma (historic university city) are the easiest cities to reach by car (approx. one hour’s journey by motorway), also Pisa (about 1 ½ hours on motorway); Florence is recommended to travel by train, as very difficult to park there, though not impossible, and takes approx. 3 hours by car. The nearest railway station from Tavernelle is in the town of Aulla, approx. 10 kilometre’s drive away.

Visit the picturesque, traditional village of Licciana Nardi about 5 kilometres from Tavernelle – plenty of cafés, little food boutiques and a very attractive church.
